Treatments vary greatly on the individual but may include any of the following after a detailed neurological assessment in the home environment:

  • Individualised exercise plan
  • Specific hands on treatment 
  • Advice on orthotics and splinting 
  • Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (stimulation of nerves or muscles as part of an exercise programme)
  • Functional electrical stimulation advice (a device to help with walking) 
  • Carer advice and education
  • Manual handling advice
  • Postural management
  • Activity specific treatment (can take place in gym/swimming pool) 
  • Assessment, treatment and advice on facial palsy
