Neurological physiotherapy specialises in the treatment of patients with neurological symptoms following damage to the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves. Treatment focuses on regaining or improving function in everyday activities and improving quality of movement.

With over 10 years experience, she offers a comprehensive Physiotherapy assessment and an individualised treatment program based on your needs and goals. Helen is HCPC registered, a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) a Neurological Special Interest Group (ACPIN) and a vestibular special interest group (ACPIVR).

Helen lives in Nantwich, and is happy to travel within a 20 mile radius of the town for no additional charge. If you live outside this area, please get in contact to discuss. Helen is flexible and can normally accommodate clients living outside this area for a additional travel fee.
Based on your assessment findings a specific exercise program may be devised to complement your treatment and ensure carry over between sessions.
It may be necessary to use hands on treatment to help with realigning muscles and soft tissues and encouraging them to work in an efficient way.
Sometimes it is helpful to use a splint in order to provide a prolonged stretch or to help with walking if muscles are weak.
This is a dynamic splint used to help with walking specifically when there is a foot drop.
Exercise programs and specific advice regarding stretches can be taught to carers.
Advice can be given regarding the safest and most efficient way to move, this may involve the use of aids and adaptations.
Wheelchair and postural advice can also be given.
Activity specific exercise programs can be taught and carried out. Sessions can take place in your home, garden, gym or local swimming pool.
