Treatments vary greatly on the individual but may include any of the following after a detailed neurological assessment in the home environment:
- Individualised exercise plan
- Specific hands on treatment
- Advice on orthotics and splinting
- Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (stimulation of nerves or muscles as part of an exercise programme)
- Functional electrical stimulation advice (a device to help with walking)
- Carer advice and education
- Manual handling advice
- Postural management
- Activity specific treatment (can take place in gym/swimming pool)
- Assessment, treatment and advice on facial palsy
