What is Neurological Physiotherapy?

Neurological physiotherapy specialises in the treatment of patients with neurological symptoms following damage to the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves.This may be following diagnosis with a neurological condition (e.g. Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease) or after a neurological injury (e.g. stroke or head injury). Treatment focuses on regaining or improving function in everyday activities and improving quality of movement. A detailed physical neurological assessment will be carried out. Strength, sensation and movement analysis will form part of this. An individualised treatment program will follow.
